So sad news guys. My Great-Grandmother died today. at 1:22 this morning. but you know what it's okay she just turned 93 in November, and well she hasn't been doing so well. Plus she has Alzheimers disease so it didn't really feel like it was her in her own body. I mean last time i visited she didnt know who i was. yup. it was sad. but you know she's in a much better place now, and i'd like to think that she is happier in Heaven and she has all her memories back.
I remember when i was younger when i used to go to her house, we used to go for walks, because she really liked to walk. She was always really tough too, not mean though, just really tough. and we used to play in her back yard which was kind of small since she lived in town. and we had to kind of be quiet as to not disturb the neighbors. lol.
anyways then we found out she had Alzheimers and it was basically all down hill from there. it got really bad when we used to go to my Grandmothers house and everytime i would walk into the room Nanny (my great-gma) would be like wow your so tall i think your taller than me, lets measure. so then i would have to stand back to back with her just to find out AGAIN that i was taller than her. i mean it wasn't her fault, it was the disease it was just annoying and sad. Eventually the disease got so bad that she had to go live in a old folks home. those places really suck, i mean they smell bad, and sometimes it seems like they dont' take good care of the people who are in there. I mean there are places who do an amazing job! just not all of them. Anyways so Nanny was pretty tough, and you didn't really want to be on her wrong side... as one of the people who also lived in the home found out...because Nanny punched her. yes you read that right. at that time she was pry about 89. so my 89 year old Great Grandmother punched someone. well basically got in a fight. so they kicked her out. lol. i mean it's not that funny but at the same time it's hilarious. i mean she was this tiny really skinny old woman fighting someone. my dad said she was Russian lol. i have no idea what that has to do with anything but she was a tough cookie. anyways so she finally arrived at a home where they didn't kick her out and she didn't beat someone up, and it actually had been pry two or three years since i visited her, which is so mean, but it's because i didn't want to remember her as this frail old sick lady who didn't know who i was, it was easier to remember her from when i was younger and she knew who i was and all that jazz.
so yup. oh yeah and well apparently the longest anyone has gone without eating or driking something in a home was oh three days, yeah my great grandmother made it for 6 1/2 days. i told you she was tough.
anyways thanks for reading this
and don't worry guys i'm not sad because i know she is in a better place where she will be happier. and now she isn't slowly losing every memory she ever had you know?
so funeral/viewing friday. :/ i dont' really like funerals, and thank goodness it's a closed casket viewing.
yeah. well enough of this sadness. thanks for reading, share you experiences if you want :)
