Peer Mentoring!

soo thanks everyone for the condolences with my dog. you da best (name that youtube video! well if you can't think of it, just remind me to tell you what it is in one of the next blogs i right! HAHA)

haha soo no blog um yesterday (saturday)
my bad.
but i had to pack my car, and drive to school, unpack my car, go to dinner with the lady in charge of peer mentoring, and well it was intense. i mean i was done dinner by 7, well done dinner and back in my apartment by 7. i was just feeling lazy. i thought about going to bed right away.
sad. i know.
but then i ended up watching house until 11.
kind of a bad idea since i had to get up at 7 this morning for peer mentoring. but whatever.
i couldn't sleep that well last night, and i'm going to guess Clayton came back at like 2:52 this morning. such a strange boy. but what can ya do.
so i was up at 7 this morning then.
arrived at school by like 7:50 and went to wait in campus security for all the transfer students, and first year students that were supposed to arrive, which was 14 in total. which i think is alot for spring. but what do i know, it was my first time around. haha
so the lady in charge of transferring in and such was there, she brought some donut holes, and some bagels, and orange juice.
i arrived at the same time as her actually, which i dont know if that was good or bad. but oh well.
so the other girl who was helping me, well actually i would say i was helping her, happened to be my peer mentor last semester! ahha. i really like her though, she's super nice. and funny. and then there was this guy who was helping us, he was basically there for the first year students though (even though there were only 3).
but he was super hilarious.
best part is, i met him at one of mike and clay's parties and he has talked to me at i think two of them before, and he didn't remember me, it was a great moment, since i knew exactly who he was. but what do you expect. he's a boy.
haha
so i think there were like 4 or 5 students out of the transfers that were staying on campus and the rest were commuters, so that was interesting.
and well we just did the regular orientation kind of thing. welcoming, induction, tour of the library, ITS, academic advising, and lunch somewhere in there. so those are the things i did at my orientation in three days. we did it in one. ahha amazing.
so it was really funny talking to some of the kids in my peer group. well since i'm like awkwardly shy. i was like okay i can do this, so i was like trying to talk to them and i would ask a question and they would answer it, and then they wouldn't say anything else. i mean i would have done that too if i was in there position, but still i was like i don't want them to think i'm this annoying person who keeps asking them loads of questions.
what's worse we were in one of the awkward silent pauses and one of the IAP (i think they are like international peer ambassadors, oh so there we go they should be IPA's ha, because we had like 10 international students doing some orientation stuff with us), well she was like HEY GUYS why dont you come join our table, we are super fun.
i was like. wow. i don't like you. i mean it was obvious that i was trying to do my job as a peer mentor. so annoying.
but the one kid was really nice, and he was like OH NO thanks we are having a super great conversation over here.
i was like oh jeez haha. but i thought it was nice of him to consider the fact that that girl just severely embarrassed me in front of three of my peer kids. so i like him. haha. i really appreciated that he did that.
and i totally thought my grandma told me that some kid was coming here in the spring, butttt i forget his name. soo he totally could have been in my group anddddddd i wouldn't have known. the thing is she told me he was like ridiculously tall and played basketball, and no one was ridiculously tall or played basketball. soo i guess he didn't come here, or my grandma got some wrong facts from her brother lol
anyways i hope the peer kids won't mind like saying hi to me if they ever see me. that would make me super happy! i mean they are my first group of peer kids. i just hope i dont forget their names...that would be awkward.
well i mostly talked to Cameron, Ben and Christine, so i'm pretty sure i got those three, and then some of the other ones shouldn't be hard to recognize. hopefully. haha
oh so it was funny, when all the peer kids were in their ITS meeting, Shikirra, Tom and I hung outside of the classroom waiting, and Tom seriously asked me like four times throughout the day, when i had transferred in and like a billion other questions. i was like alright Tom. haha then he asked about my roommates.
such a great moment.
especially when he found out it was Mike and Clay. he was like i know Mike! and i sort of know Clay, i was like haha. yeah. then he somehow talked about their parties and i was like yeah, i met you at one of them. and he was like oh...(awkward silence) then he was like so.. then he somehow worded to ask me if he was drunk when he met me. and i was like umm dude i have no idea. haha. i mean i didn't really know him then so how i could i tell if he was. all i know is he dressed super ghetto the one time. lol.
so that was funny. we'll see if he remembers who i am like tomorrow.

so we invited all the peer kids to dinner, and only one showed up, so we were like well you don't have to stay with us, and he was like okay i'll just go eat with my girlfriend bye. and we were like um alright.
haha.
so then i went to dinner with shikirra and her roommates
it was kind of awkward since i don't know them and they talked about people. well i dont' know, so i just kind of sat there eating,

while i was up getting my food. GUESS WHO I SAW!

ahha i laughed. well on the inside because he was near me and if i would have randomly laughed it would have been awkward. but i like cut in front of him to get to the salad. and well i didn't even say excuse me. but he had to have seen me! ahha
it makes me laugh that today was technically the "first" day back and i already saw him.
maybe we should start a counter on how many times a week i see him.
yes? or yes?

anddddd FUNNY STORY.
so you know i got a north face jacket for christmas well it's gray fleece with like the black panels or whatever you call them.
well.
he has one.
the exact same color.
i seriously had no idea when i ordered mine. it's weird.
like we match, and we aren't even dating. weirdness.
but you know it's cool.
because i was getting ready to leave and i talked to this girl who i did Teen Counseling with when i was in tenth grade, she was one of my like group leader people with me. and she actually remembered me, i was shocked, because Shikirra tried to introduce us and she was like OH DUDE IKNOW HER! WE DID TEEN COUNSELING TOGETHER! YEAh! i was like haha yeah we did! i was excited since it's been years since i saw her :)
and this kid i graduated with (actually her younger brother, it's really funny since they both went to the same college, dude it could have been me and my brother, except he's too cool to go to the same school as me, he pry fears i would embarrass him, but dude i have my own friends. like seriously hahah) well he just came back from Hawaii! and he waved to me and then his sister like waved me over when i was going to say hi to two of my friends and she was like so what is your major and told her and he was like that's my minor! i was like oh cool. then i was talking to his sister and i think i said i really like it here like four times. so that was um weird of me. ahah
then i said Hi to Andrew and John, and John was hilarious. seriously missed him over break.
so when i was talking to john and andrew, shb was taking his tray up and there is no doubt he saw me again because i was standing there laughing hysterically at something John just said. so now he either thinks i'm insane and rude, or crazy or something. idk. but i saw him like look at John and Andrew then look back at me. so idk what that means.
i guess we shall see.
so then i visited Sam, and hung out for a super long time, well she was unpacking so i just sat in her room and talked to her while she did that haha. then we got some food and visited John and Andrew in their room, and hung out there for like two hours, John is really entertaining when it comes to music. but i really enjoy it because he likes to show like the wide variety of stuff he enjoys. it's really cool. like we listened to the Rolling Stones tonight, then Little Richard lol. he has a record player in his room, so i think that's super cool too.
then i finally came back here, and mike and clayton weren't here, but shwayze barked at me. and actually still keeps barking, but i'm not letting her out. the living room is like a war zone so i'm avoiding that area for awhile. ahha
oh so there were like 10 or so international students that came and like six of them were from Japan and three from France, and the one guy from France, well i caught him like awkwardly staring at me a lot. it was kind of unnerving, and i dont know what it means. but oh well. well i think that's basically it, i'll add more to another blog if i think of anything. i'm super tired. and have to buy my books tomorrow (well today since it is now 1:37 and neither of my roommates are back. such rebels we have school tomorrow ! like literally tomorrow as in tuesday not monday haha)
